Want the best in-flight Wi-Fi? Here’s what you need to look for
A new report by Ookla evaluates in-flight Wi-Fi performance across airlines, finding that Starlink partnerships are a key factor in high speeds and reliability. AirBaltic ranked highest for consistency, while United had the fastest median download speed at nearly 320 Mbps when using Starlink. Other top performers include Emirates, Alaska Airlines, and WestJet, all benefiting from Starlink connectivity. Airlines without Starlink, such as Delta and jetBlue, currently lag behind but plan to improve service through Amazon's upcoming satellite network.

- ▪Emirates, Alaska Airlines, and airBaltic also achieved median speeds over 300 Mbps, rivaling ground-based 5G networks.
- ▪Delta and jetBlue ranked low in current performance but have plans to launch improved Wi-Fi through partnerships with Amazon’s Project Kuiper in the coming years.
