Verification of postal ballots of Sringeri constituency will be done on May 2, says Chikkamagaluru DC

The verification of rejected postal ballots polled in the election for the Sringeri Assembly constituency in April-May 2023 will be held at IDSG College in Chikkamagaluru on Saturday, as per the instructions from the Karnataka High Court.Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner N.M. Nagaraj, in a press conference in Chikkamagaluru on Thursday, said that the High Court, in its order on April 6 this year, ordered the verification of 279 rejected postal ballots. As per the orders from the Election Commission, issued on April 22, the Deputy Secretary-2 of Chikkamagaluru Zilla Panchayat had been appointed returning officer for the constituency.
