Becerra — former attorney general of California and Biden’s Health and Human Services secretary — is the Democrat. Hilton — British-born commentator, entrepreneur, former Fox News host and Trump-backed — is the Republican. The first Berkeley IGS poll of the matchup puts Becerra up 52% to 31%, with 17% undecided. It was conducted online May 19-24 among more than 8,500 registered voters, run by veteran pollster Mark DiCamillo and funded in part by the Los Angeles Times.
