Veteran Congress leader and socio-cultural activist Mangalam Gopinath, 88, passed away after fighting cancer for a few months, at a hospital at Manjeri on Sunday evening.A former member of the All India Congress Committee and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, Gopinath was editor of Al Ameen and Malabar Today newspapers.Apart from his political activities, Gopinath was in news for collecting all election manifestos of the Congress since 1937 Indian provincial elections.He is survived by wife M.
