The Udupi police have installed speed gun and other cameras on eight different routes in Udupi district, which are connected to Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS), that help in booking cases for overspeeding and other traffic violations. Since Wednesday, images of about 6,000 traffic violations have been recorded.Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said these fixed cameras have been installed on Karkala-Dhoopadakatte, Padubidri-Uchhila, Kaup-Dandatheerta, Kota-Thekkatte, Gangolli-Trasi and Byndoor-Nayanakatte road stretches.
