In a tragic incident, two women were killed when the goods auto in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry on the Madurai-Dhanushkodi fourway lane on Monday.Police said that 15 others, including women, were injured in the accident and they were taken in 108 ambulance to Ramanathapuram GH and to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.Preliminary inquiries revealed that the group of men and women had hired an auto to participate in a condolence in Paramakudi.After attending, when they were returning home, the goods auto was hit by the lorry on the four way stretch. In the impact, all the 15 occupants were thrown off the vehicle.Police said that Boopathi, 50, wife of Thavamurugan of Santhaikadai died on the spot.
