Two persons were arrested by Nemili police near Arakkonam town in Ranipet on Tuesday for illegal sale of Tasmac liquor bottles.The police said the arrested persons were identified as G. Rajendran, 70, and his accomplice K. Anjalai, 51. They are residents in Keel Venkatapuram village near Nemili town. Initial inquiry revealed that the district police formed special teams, after it received several complaints of illegal sale of liquor, especially before opening of the outlets in Nemili town and surrounding villages. Based on an alert, a police team led by Jaffer Siddique, Deputy SP (Arakkonam sub-division), was on patrol when they intercepted the duo, who had two large bags.The police said the team checked the bag and found liquor bottles that were sold in Tasmac outlets.
