Three persons were killed in a road accident at Vellamadam near Nagercoil on Saturday.According to police, four members of a family from Thiruvenkadapuram near Nanguneri were travelling in a car to Nagercoil to visit a patient undergoing treatment at Kanniyakumari Government Medical College and Hospital. They were identified as Sivakami, 55, U. Thuraitchi, 42, U. Kishore, 18, and Suresh, 33 who was driving the vehicle.While nearing Vellamadam on the bypass road, the car rammed into a lorry parked on the roadside. Sivakami, Thuraitchi and Kishore died on the spot and Suresh sustained severe injuries.The police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination at KKGMCH.
