Thoughts on using open source / generated content for monetization?

I know there are tons of people are already making content trying to cash in or trying to learn how to use open source models so they can try to cash in and monetize their creations. I am curious about two things and would like to hear the various opinions on the topic: How do you feel or what do you think in general about making AI content simply for the purposes of making money? Do you feel that the flood of people trying to make more and more stuff leads to more 'AI slop' on the Internet? I h
