Texas Democrat Talarico leads senator Cornyn and AG Paxton in Senate race poll
A new poll shows Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico leading both incumbent Senator John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton in hypothetical matchups ahead of the November 2026 election. The TPOR survey of 1,018 likely voters found Talarico with a three-point edge over Cornyn and a five-point lead over Paxton. His support is strongest among Black, Latino, college-educated, and independent voters. The Republican primary runoff between Cornyn and Paxton is set for May 26, with Donald Trump yet to endorse either candidate.
