Stormy summer rains leave trail of damage across Central Travancore

Heavy rains accompanied by stormy winds that lashed the region over the past couple of days have left a trail of destruction across Central Travancore.According to officials, the incessant showers brought down several trees, snapping power cables and damaging crops spread across several acres of land. Partial damages to several houses were also reported across the region. For farmers, who had already suffered huge losses due to the scorching heat until early this week, the arrival of the summer rains and strong winds has come as a double whammy.
