Special Olympics swimmer set to race in many aquatic races in LI event: ‘I’m the strongest kid on the block’
Matthew Schuster, a 43-year-old Special Olympics swimmer and testicular cancer survivor from Medford, will compete in multiple aquatic events at a Long Island Special Olympics meet. Schuster, who has Down syndrome, has won numerous gold medals over his long career and will represent Team USA at the national games in Minnesota this June. The event in Massapequa is part of a larger weekend of sports activities on Long Island, including charity softball games supporting various causes.
