Senior IAS officer A.S.P.S Ravi Prakash has assumed charge as the Chief Electoral Officer of Puducherry.The Election Commission of India in consultation with the Government of Puducherry had designated Mr. Prakash as CEO when the post fell vacant after P. Jawahar moved to Kochi as Chairman of Marine Products Exports Development Authority (MPEDA), Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, on Central deputation.Subsequently, the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Government of Puducherry, had issued an order on Tuesday appointing Mr. Prakash as CEO. On Wednesday, he assumed charge at the Election Department Office in Reddiyarpalayam.
