Paramount Re-Titles K-Pop Pic, Shifts Release Date
Paramount has re-titled its K-Pop film from K-Pop Superstar: The Movie to K-Pop: The Debut. The release date has been moved from February 12 to February 26, placing it in competition with other major films. K-Pop: The Debut moves onto a competitive weekend with Warner Bros’ Sam Esmail directed Panic Carefully starring Julia Roberts and Eddie Redmayne and Sony’s family drama Live Like That. Lee directs off a screenplays by Elyse Hollander and Eileen Shim which follows a young Korean-American woman, who defies her family’s wishes to compete in a televised competition to find the next K-pop girl group in Korea. Producers are James H. Shin, Arthur Spector, Bryan Oh, Josh Davis and Scott Braun. EPs are Martha Fernandez, John Zaozirny, Josh Bearman, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro and Andrew Lary.
