As part of Operation Gajamukthi, which is aimed at reducing human-wildlife conflict in the Aralam farm and rehabilitation areas, forest officials on Tuesday (May 19) drove away a herd of wild elephants from vulnerable zones in the farm.The operation carried out by two teams began in Block 1 and the nursery area of Block 5 of the farm. Officials monitored the movement of the elephants and drove two tuskers, identified as a big tusker and a Makhna (tuskless elephant), through Ekkundi towards Block 2 of the farm.Subsequently, six elephants, including the two shifted from Blocks 1 and 5, were driven from Block 2 through Block 4 towards the helipad area.
