Following complaints of water flowing from Mullaperiyar dam to Vaigai dam being drawn illegally in certain areas, causing water shortage in the tail-end areas, Water Resources Department officials conducted an inspection and seized illegal pipelines and motors used for drawing the water illegally.The WRD officials, along with Tangedco and police officials, conducted joint inspections along the stretch from Kullappagoundanpatti to Karunakkamuthanpatti and from Kottur to Upparpatti.During the inspection, they found that water was being stolen for agricultural lands with illegally installed motors and pipelines.
