A mentally unstable person who sailed into the sea in a country boat and got stranded near Neduntheevu was rescued by Sri Lankan fishermen here on Saturday.The police said, a small country boat without an engine belonging to Pachammal, 52, was berthed on Dhanushkodi North Beach and had been missing since the evening of May 22, 2026.While they were searching for it, Pandi, 52, from Rameswaram, known to be mentally unstable, had taken the said boat and gone into the sea.At around 5 pm on Saturday, near Neduntheevu, when the boat capsized in the sea and he was struggling, Neduntheevu fishermen rescued him and handed him over to the Neduntheevu Police Station.
