An elderly autorickshaw driver, and other residents, staying near Nagabana in Jeppu Majila, are worried over the prospect of flooding of their houses following increase in the road height with the new concrete road, which has practically closed the shoulder drain that was laid recently.“The level of the road surface has gone up by about 10 inches from the the old asphalt road. Now run off water from places at higher-level will come directly into our houses. Though construction agency has made provision to lay a pipe to drain out water, this will not save us from water logging ,” the autorickshaw driver said.Another resident said the 100-meter long new concrete road has covered the shoulder drain, which was recently laid. This increases the chances of flooding.
