A man accused of cheating a woman of ₹32 lakh, around 10 sovereigns of gold and later sexually assaulting her has been arrested from Tamil Nadu by the Thrissur City police.The accused, Ayub of Karimpuzha in Nilambur, was taken into custody by the Thrissur West police and a Special Action Group against Organised Crimes (SAGOC) squad with the support of cyber cell from Ervadi in Tamil Nadu.The police said the accused befriended the woman in 2025 and gained her trust by offering to promote her villa project.
