Man charged with attempting to assassinate Trump to remain in custody
Cole Tomas Allen, 31, has agreed to remain in federal custody as prosecutors build their case against him for allegedly attempting to assassinate Donald Trump during the White House correspondents' dinner in Washington, DC. Allen reportedly stormed a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton and fired a shotgun near the ballroom where Trump and other officials were present. The event was abruptly halted, attendees were evacuated, and Allen was apprehended without being shot by law enforcement.
