Linux 7.2 Will Fix The Intel P-State Driver For The New Bartlett Lake CPUs
Linux 7.2 is set to address issues with the Intel P-State driver for the new Bartlett Lake CPUs. The fix will correct erroneous maximum frequency values reported for these processors, which were mistakenly reported as running at 7GHz. Additionally, a scaling factor fix for Raptor Lake E CPUs is also included in the upcoming update.
- ▪The fix for the Intel P-State driver will be included in the Linux 7.2 kernel.
- ▪Bartlett Lake CPUs were incorrectly reported to run at 7GHz instead of their actual maximum of 5.7GHz.
- ▪A scaling factor fix for Raptor Lake E CPUs is also being prepared for the Linux kernel.

Linux 7.2 Will Fix The Intel P-State Driver For The New Bartlett Lake CPUs Written by Michael Larabel in Intel on 19 May 2026 at 06:00 AM EDT. Add A Comment The fix is set to land in the upcoming Linux 7.2 kernel so the P-core-only Bartlett Lake processors will not report bogus maximum frequency values. Earlier this month I wrote about Linux erroneously thinking Bartlett Lake CPUs run at 7GHz. The issue and proposed fix came from a QNAP engineer working with these new embedded-focused Intel processors. The Intel Core 9 273PE was initially found to be reported for 7.0+ GHz when in reality its turbo doesn't exceed 5.7GHz.
