Lincoln Imp gets club shirt to celebrate promotion
A 14th-century stone carving of the Lincoln Imp in Lincoln Cathedral has been fitted with a Lincoln City FC shirt to celebrate the club's promotion to the Championship after winning the League One title. Cathedral staff member Stuart Boyfield, a lifelong fan, helped dress the imp, which also appears on the team's badge. Players and fans viewed the gesture as a symbolic connection between the city's heritage and the football club's success. A victory parade is scheduled for May 9.
