KMSCON is of growing interest to more Linux distributions for delivering a more feature-rich and robust experience than using the aging, legacy VT. With KMSCON 10.0 there is now libseat support for opening a seat and obtaining the file descriptors for the display and input devices. In turn this libseat support enables KMSCON to run as an unprivileged user on systems where libseat is present.
