KB Home has developed two California neighborhoods, Dixon Trail in Escondido and Stone Canyon in Cameron Park, that are the first in the nation and in Northern California, respectively, to be certified by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety for wildfire resilience. The communities are built to rigorous fire-safe standards, incorporating features like tempered glass, metal mesh, and non-combustible materials around homes. Company leaders emphasize that neighborhood-wide adherence to these standards enhances overall safety and may reduce homeowners' insurance costs.
