Inflation Remains at 2.8% in May

New figures from the Office for National Statistics show inflation did not change in May. Sticking at 2.8%… Motor fuel prices rose by 24.6% – the ONS says “food and non-alcoholic beverages made the largest, partially offsetting, downward contribution.” On the producer side the ONS records input prices rising by 8.7% in the year to May 2026 – driven by increases in the cost of crude oil and refined petroleum products. Brent crude fell to a three-month low at $78 as Iran the the US organise for the Strait to be opened…
