GM Adds Google Gemini for Drivers to Rev Up with AI Assistant
General Motors is rolling out Google's generative AI model, Gemini, to over 4 million vehicles across its Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac brands starting with model year 2022 and newer vehicles that already have Google built-in. The update will allow drivers to use natural language to plan fuel-efficient trips, locate nearby services, manage messages, and control entertainment through the vehicle's infotainment system. The upgrade requires an OnStar connection, a Google Play Store login, US English settings, and user opt-in via an in-vehicle notification.
