Farmers cultivating green gram and black gram in the district can sell their produce under the Price Support Scheme and benefit from the minimum support price announced by the Union government, Collector R. Elambahavath has said.In a release, the Collector said the State government had been taking several initiatives to increase agricultural production and improve farmers’ income. As part of the efforts, procurement of pulses cultivated during the 2025-26 rabi season was being undertaken to safeguard the interests of farmers. Under the scheme, procurement would be carried out through the Salem Regulated Market functioning under the Salem Marketing Committee of the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business till July 9, 2026.
