District Collector Shikha Surendran has ordered an immediate probe into the incident in which an elephant went on a rampage in Thrissur, and directed the Divisional Forest Officer and Social Forestry ACF (Assistant Conservator of Forest) to submit reports urgently.Officials said tranquillizing the elephant was not feasible at the time as it was on the move. The tahsildar and village officer have been asked to quickly assess the damage to vehicles and property. The elephant, owned by Sivadath, a Thiruvananthapuram native, is insured, and authorities have assured compensation to all affected.
