The AIADMK general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, has urged Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to prevent the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led regime from “indulging in horse-trading.” Former Minister “Agri” S.S. Krishnamurthy and Rajya Sabha Member M. Dhanapal submitted a petition to the Governor on Saturday. Mr. Krishnamurthy alleged that the TVK-led government was seeking to bring the AIADMK legislators to its side through “inducements”. This was why Mr. Palaniswami requested Mr. Arlekar to take action against the State government under Article 167 (Duties of Chief Minister as respects the furnishing of information to Governor) of the Constitution. He expressed the hope that the Governor would act on the petition.
