Members from the Kuthoosi Gurusamy Padipagam at Venkatapuram on Monday petitioned the Coimbatore district Collector seeking closure of two Tasmac outlets at Kovilmedu on Thadagam Road.A petition submitted by the study centre, a branch of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, stated that the two Tasmac outlets near Kovilmedu bus stop (No:1602) and another one (No: 1611) located about 50 metres away, were causing hindrances to tranquility in the area.The public, including women, children and pedestrians, were facing a lot of inconveniences from customers who visit these liquor outlets and bars attached to them, the petitioners alleged. They also wanted the district administration to clear garbage accumulated on Kovilmedu – K.K. Pudur road.
