New York-based distribution company-2 Special has acquired all North American rights to Marine Atlan’s La Gradiva which has just scooped the main Grand Prize at Cannes Critics Week. The film follows a group of high school students on a class trip to Naples amid the charged landscape of Pompeii. In the shadow of these ancient ruins, they are suddenly overcome by a dizzying sensation, and one after another become engulfed by desire, anger, and despair until they surrender to it completely. La Gradiva is Atlan’s first feature film, following work as a cinematographer on films including Jessica Forever, The Rapture, Summer Scars and Queens of Drama.
