Two persons were arrested and 440 kg of banned tobacco products were seized at Thiruvaiyaru.Inquiries reveal that the Narcotics Control Bureau received an information that two persons residing in Thiruvaiyaru region in Thanjavur district were engaged in the sale of banned tobacco products and were sourcing the material from the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.Subsequently, a vehicle checking exercise was conducted by the bureau personnel at Thiruvaiyaru on May 22 and during the exercise a mini-goods carrier laden with haystack bundles was intercepted.
