Aspen Wooten, Lake Nona girls capture elusive FHSAA tennis state title
Lake Nona's girls tennis team won their first FHSAA Class 4A state championship, defeating reigning champions Miami Palmetto 4-0 at Sanlando Park. Senior Aspen Wooten clinched the title with a comeback victory in the No. 2 singles match, erasing painful memories from last year's loss. The Lions completed a perfect 19-0 run through the state tournament with an undefeated season. Head coach Tom Beard praised the team for finally capturing the program's long-sought championship.
