Ask HN: I only use 30% of my Claude max x5 all model quota
The author discusses their experience with the Claude max x5 model quota. They find it sufficient for supervised coding but limiting when using autonomous agents for larger tasks. The author emphasizes the importance of understanding code and maintaining control over the coding process.
- ▪The Claude max x5 model is adequate for supervised coding tasks.
- ▪Using agents for larger tasks can create bottlenecks in the coding process.
- ▪Maintaining control and understanding of code is crucial for developers.

My take is that if you use it for supervized coding then max5 is more than enough. It becomes a bottleneck when using agents that spawns to tackle larger tasks and do random trial and errors to correct itself autonomously. As a dev, understanding the code is a vital part of my job, hence I cannot let agents write more than I can review (and not only review, but fully understand). So I'm also not benefiting from x100 coding speed, but I'm not losing control either.
