The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) organised a public hearing on Thursday (May 21, 2026) regarding the proposed Water Aerodrome Project in Prakasam Barrage by the Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation Limited (APADCL), at Haritha Berm Park in Bhavanipuram. The hearing was presided over by NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha. Representatives of various organisations participated in the public hearing.Speaking at the hearing, representative of the Human Rights Forum (HRF) strongly opposed the project. They demanded that the public hearing be declared cancelled for the Draft Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Report prepared by M/s Enviro Resources which was full of errors.The HRF urged the authorities concerned to start the process afresh.
